How the Absolute Marine UltraSonic Works

An Absolute Marine UltraSonic Underwater Hull Protection System uses ultrasound to create an environment on the vessel which prohibits bio-film growth.

This prevents the attachment of algae, maintaining the underside of the vessel free from marine growth. No pollutants are used and the ultrasonic pulses are harmless to fish and are inaudible to marine mammals. In summary a special 'transducer' converts the hull to become its own UltraSonic transmitter carrying the signal to all underwater points.

Suitable Hull Types

There are many different hull designs, shapes, sizes and can be built from an array of different materials.

Limitations

There are some limitations and these vary from vessel to vessel. Timber and Ferro Cement vessels will not function as the base material absorbs the energy wave so will not be transmitted throughout the hull.

If your vessel suffers from Osmosis it will need to be removed prior to fitting of the UltraSonic device. Certain other vessels will require special out of the water fitment as the sound absorbing layer must be removed if the hull has core mat, plywood or balsa fitted as this will act as a suppression of the signal. These vessels can and have been fitted with Absolute Marine UltraSonic devices but “out of the water”
